Right now I am doing one of the most intense workout programs on the market. It’s called p90X. The system comes with 12 different workouts and a series of routines over a 3 month period. The workouts consist of 1+ hour sessions 6 days a week. You physically push yourself every workout until exhaustion. I’m tired, thirsty and sore up until the next day when I have to do it all over again.
So why do I do this to myself? Why would anyone want to do this? DESIRE. I have my goals and desire and that’s what motivates me to do my work outs. I don’t make excuses, I don’t skip days and I just get it done. I know it will be worth it in the end. If I had no desire, I would have no motivation, I would never work out and I would never see change.
Desire is a longing or craving, as for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment.
Have you ever wanted something so bad that you would do anything to get it? If your desire is big enough and true to your heart, you will be motivated to do ANYTHING and everything in order to achieve your desire. You will work hard if your desire is meaningful enough. You should be saying “I will do” instead of “I will try to do.” You must leave yourself with no other option.
Sometimes we need to make sacrifices to achieve our goals and desires. Sometimes you will need to stay inside all day and study in order to pass that exam. Sometimes you will need to say no to your favourite TV show and get on that training webinar or call. Sometimes you will need to spend your extra savings on books or courses. In the end, these small sacrifices will all be worth it.
If your desire is weak or not what you truly desire, your motivation will lack and you will see poor results in reaching your goals. Desire and motivation work hand in hand to keep you working at your best potential.
If we could bring desire and motivation to everything we did in life. We would not be settling for the person we are instead of the person we wish to be. We should constantly be challenging and pushing ourselves until we reach or goals and desires. What is stopping you from achieving your goals? Is your desire big enough?
When your desire is big enough, everything else will fall into place.
