How to Overcome Distractions

Did you find yourself at the end of the day wondering where the day went? Do you often think of how much time is wasted on your distractions? You probably wish you would go to bed at the end of the night feeling accomplished and good about yourself. Knowing how to overcome distractions and getting your to do list completed will give you a better night's sleep and leave you feeling the way you want to feel when you rest your head on that pillow!

We all get distracted, whether by phone, email or visitors everyone has distractions. Sometimes they cannot be avoided, sometimes they will ruin our day. The best way to fight distractions is not to eliminate them, but actually give them a time and place. Find out what distracts you the most from your work. Is it the internet? Then maybe getting your work done in the morning and leaving a set time for browsing would work for you. Are you distracted by phone calls? Perhaps allowing the phone to go to voice-mail wouldn't hurt when you are set on completing the task at hand.

Once you have a set schedule for each day, it will be easier to set a time and place for distractions. They will happen. Let's not them ruin our day. Once you begin to notice what distracts you, you will be more aware that it is an obstacle stopping you from achieving your goals and more likely to set a better time for it, or completely ignore it if it is not worth your time. Soon you will know how to overcome distractions in no time!
