Another Branding Yourself Tip, Add a Favicon!

Here is another branding yourself tip. It’s all about customization and trying a little extra harder than you did yesterday. Creating a favicon will definitely catch someone’s eye and make you stand out as well as help you generate a bigger following.

A favicon (favourite icon) is the small picture in beginning of the address bar in the browser.

You can change these icons to whatever you want. Having your logo or company initials would be a great idea for your favicon.

Good news, this is easy peasy.. you do not need to be an html expert to do this.

The standard "B" symbol for blogger is great for letting people know that your site is a blog site. But the standard “B” symbol is just that... STANDARD! Do you want to have standard content? I hope not!

Here is how you can create a favicon for blogger.com

Find your own image and create your free favicon online here:

http://seotools.bloggertricks.com/free/online-favicon-generator/

Next: You need to upload your picture to a hosting site. If you do not have one, you can use the free hosting site below:

http://image.computersteroids.com/

Once your image is loaded, select the Direct Link

(ie  http://image.computersteroids.com/4//larkshark.ico)

Next: Go to your blogger dashboard and choose DESIGN, then HTML

Insert your image link into the below coding.

<link href='ICON FILE URL' rel='shortcut icon'/>
<link href='ICON FILE URL' rel='icon'/>

Add this entire code right under this code:

<title><data:blog.pagetitle/></title>

Save your changes.

Your new image will display shortly. Sometimes it takes a while depending on which browser you are using.

Favicons for WordPress:

Your theme might already have a place to upload a favicon. The Bombax Theme (my theme) has this enabled.

This is directly from the WordPress help page

Installing a Favicon in WordPress

If there is already an old favicon.ico file in your current theme’s main folder, delete it using FTP Clients.
  1. With an FTP Client, upload the new favicon.ico file into your current theme’s main folder.
  2. Upload another copy of your favicon.ico file to the main directory of your site (ie. http://example.com/favicon.ico). This will display the favicon in your subscribers’ feedreaders.
In order for your favicon to show up in some older browsers, you will need to edit your page header.
  1. Go to your WordPress Administration Panel.
  2. Click on Design (called Presentation in WordPress 2.3.x and below, and Appearance in WordPress 2.7+).
  3. Click on Theme Editor.
  4. Select the file called Header or header.php to edit the file.
  5. Search for the line of code that begins with <link rel="shortcut icon" and ends with /favicon.ico" />. Overwrite it, if it exists, or add the following code below the <head> HTML tag.
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" />
  1. Save the changes.
To see your new favicon, clear your WP-Cache and your browser’s cache. You may need to restart your browser in order to see the new favicon.

Looking forward to seeing your new favicons!!

Motivational Tip of the Day!

Alright I’ll get right to it.  Celebrate your victories!!
If you have had a bad day, bad week or bad month you are probably not celebrating your victories! A little bit of celebration and positivity goes a LONG way! When you are trying to run a business it is easy to be down about profits, sales or leads and everything may not seem like its “enough.” Maybe you feel like you could be doing more or you think nothing is working. These feelings are completely normal and they happen to even the most successful top earners.

Celebrating your victories helps you feel and see what your future could look like. If you take those happy memories and feelings from your past and keep them in mind when you are doing your marketing, videos, blogging, affirmations or other daily activities you’re energy will be positive :P

Party Celebrate Your Victories , Lark Miller

It may sound silly but imagine a world where nobody smiled; you probably wouldn’t smile either and would carry around a frown around the town. Think of what you do when someone smiles at you, chances are you smile back and you feel a little bit better for a moment. Remember that thoughts lead to actions and the more times you celebrate your victories, the more times you will feel happy and positive, the more times you will think about those victories and the more effort you will put yourself through to achieve more of those victories. Your energy and eagerness for celebration will show in your productivity and work content. Soon, having victories will be normal if you let your thoughts and actions take you there.

This morning my fiancĂ©e and I did our little happy dance celebration because we made another sale. Maybe next time I’ll videotape it. It was pretty funny and very silly but we were both happy and have had a very productive day because we are now even more motivated to make more sales, celebrate more and continue the pattern.

Make sure you celebrate everything you can. I don’t care if you made $3 or 3 leads! If you don’t celebrate the small stuff, you will always focus on “what else you need to do” or “what’s not working” and you will get down, be unmotivated and not do or try your best.

Keep it positive, have fun and celebrate your darn victories! The more you think positive the more achievements will come your way.

Have a productive day!

3 Tips for Generating More Leads Online with Blogging

The following 3 tips for generating more leads online with blogging will help you ramp up your blog and get some quality leads with little effort! These are simple tricks and techniques to get the maximum benefits of using a blog for marketing your business.

1) Opt in Forms

Make sure you have access to an opt in form creator and place opt in forms on your blog sidebars. You can do this by using a blog template that has the capability for editing and creating widgets. Blogger and Wordpress are great options.

Generate different opt in forms for your affiliate links and valuable free information. Be sure to check out your statistics and sign up rate and adjust or edit your opt in forms for better conversion rates. A system like Aweber has many different opt in templates at a very low cost.

2) Call to Action

When you create a blog post, a video or any new content on your blog make sure you have a call to action telling your viewers where to go to get more great content or more information. Without a call to action, you might be missing out on leads that like your content but do not know where to get more of it. Your call to action could be to check out your facebook page for a free eBook or subscribe to your YouTube channel for a free marketing video. Make sure there is something valuable to offer your viewers in your call to action.

3) Videos

Having videos on your blog is becoming more popular and the word Vlogging (video-blogging) is more common. Videos allow you to show prospects that there is a real person behind your products and business and it will make you and your brand more legitimate. Using videos, you will be able to engage others and gain quality and loyal leads in the long run.

Another secret to having videos on your blog is that you will be able to engage your viewer for more time than a regular blog post. If you have engaged viewers going to your blog and staying there for longer periods of time, your blog will be better ranked in the search engines.

These are just a few tips for generating more leads online with blogging. Implementing these techniques will grow your following; visitors and lead opt in conversions.

From top earners to newbie marketers, young and old, from Canada to Australia, there were people from all walks of life together in one place eager to learn from the PRO’s. Wow, did we ever learn a lot!

Here’s a short recap of what you missed.

The day started off with our V.P of leadership John Jackson.  Words of wisdom and positive motivational speaking kick started the day and our moods were set for the rest of the speakers.

John Jackson
Simon Sinek: (author of the book Start With Why) Helped each and every one of us learn how to be inspired and motivated throughout the day as well as inspire others. If you do not know your “why”, I suggest you stay plugged into our community or go and get Simon Sinek’s book.  Simon has also created a “Find Your Why Course” with Carbon Copy Pro. You can check that out here.

Simon Sinek
David Bach: (author of Automatic Millionaire, and 9 other best selling books) spoke about how we can retire wealthy by using our current income and implementing a few techniques and tricks.  David has been on Oprah several times and has now committed himself to being  a big part of the Carbon Copy Pro system. He is here to stay.

David Bach
After a 5 star lunch in our 5 star hotel we were greeted by a drum/hula dancing presentation which blew the audience away. We were well taken care of!

We also learned how to work with your spouse and support each other, how to talk to leads, how to form and profit from mastermind groups and how important it is to bring value to others.

Top earners shared their income earning secrets with us and allowed us inside their daily revenue producing activity schedules.

Prizes included $50,000 in cash, a laptop, 3 iPads and 2 cars were given away to leaders in the Carbon Copy Pro industry.

The event ended with a huge launch of a new and extremely profitable master marketing University funnel. David Bach teamed up with our founders and together they have created a killer compensation plan to go along with the best marketing education system out there. This system keeps surprising us with better and better products and compensation plans every 6 months.
